Dead Horse Chestnut trees
/Over the past couple of weeks at Piper Tree Services we have had the task of dismantling 2 mature dead horse chestnut trees. The first was in Sherfield English and was dead due to honey fungus. A contagious disease that can affect any tree and causes the trees root ball to deteriorate rapidly, this unfortunately means that the tree must come down.
The second Horse chestnut we dealt with was located in Bitterne, Southampton. This specimen had no visible signs of honey fungus but a nearby tree had already fallen of its own accord. As this neighbouring TPO tree was dead, it's removal was covered by the dead, dying and dangerous act, which meant its removal was completed within 5 working days of notifying Southampton City Council. Both trees have since been processed at our recycling yard into instant seasoned firewood.
